Know the cap before you swap gear
Special melee attacks need 9% hit; dual-wield white swings have a much higher miss cap, so hit can remain useful beyond the special cap. Expertise reduces boss dodges and 26 expertise removes them from behind.
Best Gems & Enchants
These are strong Phase 3 defaults. Socket bonuses and cap requirements can make a hybrid gem better than a pure throughput gem.
Phase 3 Gearing Alternatives
Black Temple and Hyjal loot is contested. A strong gearing plan needs more than one path.
Cap first, then throughput
Hit/expertise shortfalls can make an older item better than a flashy T6 drop.
Weapon upgrades are premium
