TBC Phase 3 · Hyjal Summit

Hyjal Summit Trash & Waves Guide

Hyjal progression is not only about the five bosses. Eight-wave sequences test add control, kill priority, healer mana and the raid’s ability to recover before the boss arrives.

Core plan

Treat each wave like a timed pull

Set tank pickup zones and kill priorities before the event starts. Ranged players should know which dangerous casters or flying enemies they own, while melee avoid dragging threat through the back line. Do not spend every cooldown on an easy wave if a harder combination is next.

Most important resource

Time between waves is recovery time. Resurrect quickly when possible, drink immediately, rebuff only what matters and be in position before the next pack reaches the raid.

Role priorities

Tank

Establish threat quickly on incoming packs and keep dangerous mobs facing away from the raid. Off-tanks should know exactly which adds they are collecting instead of competing for the same targets.

Healer

Start every wave with as much mana as possible. Spread healing assignments across tanks and be ready for sudden damage when an add escapes control.

DPS

Follow kill priority, interrupt aggressively and use crowd control when assigned. A loose dangerous add costs more time than switching targets early.

Progression

Between the waves and the boss

The final trash wave flows directly into the boss encounter, so raid leaders should plan cooldowns and mana around the entire sequence rather than each pack in isolation. If the raid reaches the boss depleted, fix the wave execution first instead of treating the boss pull as the only problem.
