Healing spells do not need hit. Holy Priest gearing is a balance of throughput and regeneration; Spirit remains particularly useful because of class mechanics and raid buffs.

These are strong Phase 3 defaults. Socket bonuses and cap requirements can make a hybrid gem better than a pure throughput gem.

Throughput vs longevity
A short farm fight can favor raw healing while progression often rewards Intellect and MP5.
Do not overvalue item level
