Leatherworking 1–375 skill bands
Material prices vary by realm, so this route uses flexible skill bands instead of pretending one shopping list is always cheapest.
Use Classic leather armor kits and low-cost leather crafts, moving from Light through Rugged Leather.
Knothide Leather and Knothide Armor Kits provide a straightforward Outland opening.
Heavy Knothide Leather and Draenic/Scaled Draenic pieces carry the middle range.
Heavy Knothide Armor Kits are a practical route when leather prices are reasonable.
Drums become useful skill-up crafts; reputation recipes such as Drums of Battle and Drums of Panic are important checkpoints.
Recipes turn yellow/green at different skill levels and skill-ups are not guaranteed. Buy a buffer of materials and compare Auction House prices before committing to the most expensive final crafts.
Why Leatherworking matters in Phase 3
- Coordinate drums by party so raid cooldown windows are intentional.
- Nethercobra and Nethercleft leg armor remain important crafted enhancements for physical DPS and tanks.
- Elemental, Dragonscale and Tribal specialization still matters for selected recipes, but do not choose a specialization only because of an outdated early-phase item.
