Know the cap before you swap gear
Special attacks need 9% hit against raid bosses. Expertise reduces dodges; 26 expertise removes boss dodges when attacking from behind. Keep weapon speed and weapon damage in mind when comparing upgrades.
Best Gems & Enchants
These are strong Phase 3 defaults. Socket bonuses and cap requirements can make a hybrid gem better than a pure throughput gem.
Phase 3 Gearing Alternatives
Black Temple and Hyjal loot is contested. A strong gearing plan needs more than one path.
Weapon damage matters most
A weapon upgrade can outweigh several small armor upgrades for Arms, Fury and Retribution.
Respect expertise and hit
