Know the cap before you swap gear
Protection Warriors commonly target 490 Defense to be uncrittable by level 73 raid bosses before accounting for resilience. Once crit immune, tune effective health, avoidance and threat to the boss.
Best Gems & Enchants
These are strong Phase 3 defaults. Socket bonuses and cap requirements can make a hybrid gem better than a pure throughput gem.
Phase 3 Gearing Alternatives
Black Temple and Hyjal loot is contested. A strong gearing plan needs more than one path.
Maintain crit immunity
Never trade away the defense/resilience needed to avoid critical hits from raid bosses.
