What the spec brings

Leader of the Pack, Faerie Fire, Innervate, Rebirth and instant role flexibility.

✓ Cat and Bear use different gear priorities—do not treat one set as universal.✓ Powershifting is valuable only when it does not compromise mechanics or mana.✓ Bear threat and survival both improve when you plan rage before tank swaps.

Talents & Raid Build

This is a raid-focused baseline, not a rule that every single talent point must be identical. Utility points can move when your raid composition or a specific encounter needs them.

Priority System

Rotation & How to Play

1Cat: keep Mangle if no other source provides the debuff.
2Cat: maintain Rip and use Shred as the main combo-point builder from behind.
3Cat: powershift efficiently to convert mana into extra Energy when safe.
4Bear: keep Mangle and Lacerate pressure while maintaining threat with Maul.
5Use Barkskin, Frenzied Regeneration and form utility around encounter damage patterns.
Phase 3 rule: mechanics and uptime beat a perfect theoretical sequence. Black Temple and Hyjal repeatedly force movement, target swaps, dispels, interrupts or add control, so adapt the priority instead of freezing when the ideal rotation is interrupted.

Gearing

Stat Priority & Caps

General priority

  1. Cat: Hit / Expertise to practical caps
  2. Cat: Agility
  3. Cat: Strength / Crit
  4. Bear: Armor and Stamina
  5. Bear: Agility / Defense value

Cap notes

Cat special attacks use the 9% melee hit target against raid bosses and benefit from expertise; 26 expertise skill is the familiar dodge-cap target when attacking from behind. Bear survivability relies on Survival of the Fittest, armor and stamina rather than chasing a single defense-rating number.

Always calculate caps with your real talents, party buffs, racial effects and encounter debuffs.
