Leveling Route

Herbalism 1–375 skill bands

Material prices vary by realm, so this route uses flexible skill bands instead of pretending one shopping list is always cheapest.

1–70

Circle starter-zone paths for Peacebloom, Silverleaf and Earthroot.

70–150

Move through Briarthorn, Mageroyal, Bruiseweed and Stranglekelp zones, keeping to terrain edges where herbs commonly spawn.

150–225

Kingsblood, Liferoot, Fadeleaf, Goldthorn and Khadgar’s Whisker cover the mid-range.

225–300

Sungrass, Blindweed, Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil and Plaguebloom carry you toward 300.

300–325

Felweed and Dreaming Glory are the easiest Outland starting herbs.

325–350

Ragveil, Terocone and Flame Cap areas provide strong progression depending on zone congestion.

350–375

Netherbloom, Nightmare Vine and Mana Thistle routes finish the profession; use multiple zones if competition is high.

Recipes turn yellow/green at different skill levels and skill-ups are not guaranteed. Buy a buffer of materials and compare Auction House prices before committing to the most expensive final crafts.

Black Temple & Hyjal

Why Herbalism matters in Phase 3

  • Raid consumable demand keeps Outland herbs relevant throughout Black Temple and Hyjal progression.
  • Alchemy is the obvious pairing because you can turn gathered herbs directly into raid supplies.
  • Gathering routes are highly competition-sensitive, so an alternative zone can outperform the theoretically “best” route at peak hours.
Planning

Best pairing: Alchemy

The pairing is a practical default, not a rule. Serious raiders sometimes choose two crafting professions for character power and fund materials through alts or the Auction House.

FAQ

Herbalism questions

Do I need a fixed zone-by-zone route?

No. Herbalism is spawn driven, so the best route is the one with enough orange/yellow herbs and low competition on your server.

Is Herbalism good for a raid main?

It is convenient for self-supplying Alchemy, but some min-maxed mains move gathering professions to alts to keep two crafting professions.
